Do what you can!

You are not always going to be able to do everything so just do what you can. It is important that you are trying and putting out the effort. Sometimes we fall a little short in life, but at least we worked for it. Don't ever go out of something wishing you did more. Just do your best and that is all anyone can ask of you.

You never know!

Life is full of surprises. Everyone has different aspirations and inspirations in their lives. Focus on the things that you want to accomplish and you never know when they might come true. It could happen the moment you are least expecting it, and that moment will be priceless.

It's worth it!

Everyone has dreams. They can't be accomplished over night usually. You have to put a lot of hard work into them and sometimes you may want to give up and quit. Find the motivation inside you to keep working hard for your goals and when the day comes that your dreams come true, it will be worth it.

Team Unity!

Baseball season is going to be starting soon and this year it is a little harder for all of us on the team to pay league fees. So, we are going to do a couple different fundraisers to raise money that will go towards our league fess. It is a struggle out there for a lot of people and playing baseball is so much fun and I would hate to see anyone not be able to play. I have played competitive baseball my whole life , and now I am playing city league. It is still competitive, but it is more laid back and everyone on our team gets along great! We had a meeting tonight at Pietro's Pizza, where we talked about the upcoming season and different fundraising opportunities. Surprisingly everyone had really good ideas and was very excited. Our team is called the Royals and we are all good players but we don't have any cocky one's on the team. It isn't about how good you are, it is about having a good time and also still trying to win, but letting everyone get playing time. I am very excited for the upcoming season and I know it will be a great one.

Life is a Journey!

Growing up I always thought that I was going to be a professional Baseball player. I played baseball ever since I was 5 years old, and it was my favorite thing to do. I went to college and played baseball at Clackamas Community College and then transferred my junior year to Western Oregon University. I started the year off great and then I injured my right arm which ended my baseball career. Life throws you curve balls and it is your turn to hit the ball in another direction when that happens. After I was injured I started playing my guitar and really fell in love with country music. There are a lot of things that have inspired me throughout my life and I know that I am meant to be a writer. I love to write so much and I have taken a lot of my time this last year to really learn how writing is developed and how it is structured in songs. I am recently engaged and I am the luckiest guy ever. My fiance is beautiful inside and out and she is without a doubt in my mind, the perfect girl for me. We have dated for over 4 and a half years and it has been such an amazing journey. We will be getting married Oct 1 2010. We just recently went on vacation to Nashville TN where I hope to move later this fall to pursue my music career as a songwriter. I was amazed when I went to Nashville TN and I fell in love with the people, the buildings, the houses, the little towns, and the atmosphere. It is a perfect place to live and start the journey of marriage. I have a lot of inspiring things to write about in my songs, such as friends, my parents, sports, and everything in life but one of the main things is my fiance. I love her so much and I am so excited to get married and share the rest of my life with her. Moving to Nashville would be a huge step for us and it would be an amazing experience that we would share together. Something new is always something exciting and she will be finishing up at the Art Institute of Portland this summer. She is a very talented girl and I support her in everything that she does.I know that it will be different for her at first if we move, but I want her to know that I will always be by her side and love her forever. My dream is not only to make it as a country songwriter, but is to be the best husband that I can be and give my future wife and kids a wonderful life. I will work hard to provide for them and I will always put them first. We are so close to our families and it would be hard to move away because we love them so much, but we would be in contact with them every single day and we would make sure that we came home to visit a lot.

A Challenge!

Things can be difficult, and I know it can be frustrating when you try to accomplish something and you can't the first time you do it. If we could always conquer something on the first try then it wouldn't have any challenge to it and the fun would be taken out of it. If there is something that you want to accomplish and it is difficult, then challenge yourself to keep getting better at it each time you try. Of course there will be times that you want to give up, but what makes us stronger and better at something is overcoming the challenges and pushing ourselves till we get it right. Always believe in your abilities, it might take some time for them to truly be shown, but they are there and you are the one that can make them shine.

" A challenge wouldn't be called a, "challenge." if you didn't have to work for it.

Direction!

In life we all need to have some sort of direction in the way that we want to go. I really think that it is helpful because we know what to work hard for. Things sometimes don't work out the way we plan, but what matters is that we try. There are things I want to accomplish in my life, and I will do whatever I need to in order to achieve them. Direction is a way of motivation and can lead us to the places we want to be later on in life.

New Year's Resolutions!

New Year's Eve is tomorrow, which means it is the last day before the new year of 2010. Each year people always make resolutions that they end up not following through with all the way. This year, how about we make goals for ourselves that we can reach. If you set too high of goals, then you might get discouraged and become let down. Make some goals to better your health and help you save some money throughout these hard times. Have fun with your goals and enjoy them. They are not meant to torture you and make your life worse, they are to make it better and help you feel good about yourself. I hope that everyone has a wonderful new year's eve tomorrow and that all of their wishes come true.

Plan ahead!

Most people have a vision of how they would like their future to go. I want to be a country song-writer, in Nashville TN. Just because I want to do that does not mean that I just up and move this second. Nashville TN is the capitol of " Country Music." Most country superstars come from all over the world to make it in Nashville. There are four reasons that people move to Nashville who want to succeed in the industry. 1. Become a singer. 2. Become a songwriter. 3. Become a backup singer or musician. 4. Become involved in the business of the music industry. So many people go to Nashville hoping for a miracle right away and the one's who have a plan before they go have much more success. I love writing and I want to do it because I have a pasion for it. I am going to visit this January for four days to map some things out and maybe get a couple contacts as far as places to live and jobs within the music industry. Everyone has to start somewhere and I am willing to give it my all to make it as a successful song-writer one day.
Whatever your vision is, have a plan of how you want to get there. You will have much higher chances of accomplishment. Start from the bottom and work your way up until you are where you want to be. Nothing is going to be handed to you, so work hard for what you want.

Get a hobby!

There are so many things that I enjoy. I am always trying to do things that are exciting and interesting to me. I have always been so busy with everything and lately I have had some free time. In the last 6 months I have really focused on learning how to play the guitar. I took lessons each week for 6 months and I gained a lot of useful information. I became better every single week and noticed a lot of improvement by the end of my lessons. I am now taking it a step further and teaching myself the rest. I am focusing a lot on finger picking right now and next I will learn how to actually read the music notes. I want to become the best that I can and the only way to do that is practice and keep learning. Playing the guitar is honestly the number one thing I like to do by myself. It is so relaxing and I have gained such an appreciation for it.
Everyone deserves to have a hobby that they can enjoy. There are so many different things out there to try and learn. It is amazing when you start doing something you have never done before. It feels so uncomfortable at first, but the more you do it the better you will get and the more fun you will have. No matter what it is, if you practice enough at something you can get good. Find something that you think would be interesting to do and try it out.

Never give up!

Today is Sunday which means, "football." There have been some great games on today, but the best one that I saw was the Giants vs the Chargers. New York pretty much had control in the game. Phillip Rivers the quarterback of San Diego had two interceptions in the game and one was at the end when they were behind a touchdown. The Chargers ended up stopping the Giants that next drive and Phillip Rivers got a chance for redemption. They got the ball with 2:03 left in the game and Rivers drove his team down the field and completed an 18 yard touchdown with seconds left in the game. San Diego won the game 21 to 20. After the interception he could have gave up, but he believed in himself and his team and they ended up getting the victory.
There are going to be times in life when you make mistakes. Do not get down on yourself, keep your head up and believe in your abilities.

My bio

Hello,
My name is Brandon and I am not like most 23 year old guys. I have experienced a lot in my life and I believe in making every moment a positive one. All people have a vision of what they want to do when they grow up and I myself have wanted to be many different things. One day I will get an idea of something that I want to be or do in my life and I will convince myself that it is going to happen. I believe in dreaming big and having goals to accomplish. I am not the kind of person to stay home and watch " Why is America fat?" shows. I am the type of person that goes out and tries to make a difference every day. My life is never a dull moment and I have had many things happen that I would love to talk about in my future blogs. In life you can either look at things in a positive or a negative way. I like to use the analogy, " Is your glass half full or half empty?" In my life the glass is always half full.
