Stick to your team!

There are many people who enjoy sports, and they tend to only like a certain team when they are winning. I think that true fans are the one's that stick to a team no matter how they are doing. All teams go through rough times and the fans should be there to support them. Don't like a team just because of their performance now, like a team from the start until the end.

It's about that time!

Baseball season is right around the corner. Spring training is going on now in Arizona and Florida. All the teams are preparing for the season and figuring out who will make the big roster and who will be in the minors. Baseball is such a great sport and it is so much fun to go watch a game in the spring time or the summer when then sun is out and you can spell the freshness of the cut grass on the field. Baseball is something I love and it makes me happy.

The fun of the game!

Tonight is the 2010 NFL PRO Bowl. This is the first year since 1980 that it is not in Hawaii. It is being played in Miami, Florida which is where the Super Bowl is next Sunday. The PRO Bowl is a great event and all of the NFL stars get to play in the game. They are a lot more laid back and they are out there to have fun and show the fans a great game. Many different players get to play and show off their abilities. It is usually a high scoring game because it is more focused on offense and the defense doesn't put as much pressure on. There are a lot of different things going on during the week leading up to the game and it is awesome for all the players because of what they get to experience together. A lot of their families come as well and it is something that I am sure they appreciate very much. Sports is not all about winning, it is about having fun.

Life is a Journey!

Growing up I always thought that I was going to be a professional Baseball player. I played baseball ever since I was 5 years old, and it was my favorite thing to do. I went to college and played baseball at Clackamas Community College and then transferred my junior year to Western Oregon University. I started the year off great and then I injured my right arm which ended my baseball career. Life throws you curve balls and it is your turn to hit the ball in another direction when that happens. After I was injured I started playing my guitar and really fell in love with country music. There are a lot of things that have inspired me throughout my life and I know that I am meant to be a writer. I love to write so much and I have taken a lot of my time this last year to really learn how writing is developed and how it is structured in songs. I am recently engaged and I am the luckiest guy ever. My fiance is beautiful inside and out and she is without a doubt in my mind, the perfect girl for me. We have dated for over 4 and a half years and it has been such an amazing journey. We will be getting married Oct 1 2010. We just recently went on vacation to Nashville TN where I hope to move later this fall to pursue my music career as a songwriter. I was amazed when I went to Nashville TN and I fell in love with the people, the buildings, the houses, the little towns, and the atmosphere. It is a perfect place to live and start the journey of marriage. I have a lot of inspiring things to write about in my songs, such as friends, my parents, sports, and everything in life but one of the main things is my fiance. I love her so much and I am so excited to get married and share the rest of my life with her. Moving to Nashville would be a huge step for us and it would be an amazing experience that we would share together. Something new is always something exciting and she will be finishing up at the Art Institute of Portland this summer. She is a very talented girl and I support her in everything that she does.I know that it will be different for her at first if we move, but I want her to know that I will always be by her side and love her forever. My dream is not only to make it as a country songwriter, but is to be the best husband that I can be and give my future wife and kids a wonderful life. I will work hard to provide for them and I will always put them first. We are so close to our families and it would be hard to move away because we love them so much, but we would be in contact with them every single day and we would make sure that we came home to visit a lot.

Sports Competition!

I have been involved in sports my whole life and I love it. Competition in sports is what it is all about. You practice hard so that when it becomes game time you are ready. There are a lot of ups and downs in sports, because you can't always do good every time. The important thing is that you keep trying and put everything you got into doing your best. It is not about if you win or lose, it is about how hard you try. Some people are naturally gifted in athletics and others have to really work at it. No matter what sport it is the competition concept is still the same. Two teams are playing against each other trying to get the victory. When the winner is decided everyone on each team should not have any regret because they gave it their all.

Injuries!

I have always played sports growing up and I never really got hurt all the way through High School. I went to Clackamas Community College my first two years and played Baseball. I ended up being a NWACC All-Star. After I was finished at CCC I played in a collegiate wood bat summer league. I had a few injuries that summer, I messed my knee up and had to have it drained , I hurt my arm pitching and then a couple other minor injuries. That fall I went to Western Oregon University to play Baseball. I played very well in the Fall and at one of our last games before Winter I blew out my arm in the outfield. It caused me to stop playing baseball in college and I had to take time off for close to two years. I got my arm strengthened again and this last year I played Adult Baseball in the Portland City League.
When you get injured, no matter what type of injury, you have to take the proper steps to recovery. The worst thing that you can do when you are injured is do to much. People get injured in sports and try to go out the next day and play. The best thing for an injury is rest and recovery. If it is a small injury then take Advil and use ice and heat and just relax. If it is a large one then only do as much as you can without exerting yourself or putting pressure on the injured area. Go to physical therapy and do the proper recovery in steps.

Never give up!

Today is Sunday which means, "football." There have been some great games on today, but the best one that I saw was the Giants vs the Chargers. New York pretty much had control in the game. Phillip Rivers the quarterback of San Diego had two interceptions in the game and one was at the end when they were behind a touchdown. The Chargers ended up stopping the Giants that next drive and Phillip Rivers got a chance for redemption. They got the ball with 2:03 left in the game and Rivers drove his team down the field and completed an 18 yard touchdown with seconds left in the game. San Diego won the game 21 to 20. After the interception he could have gave up, but he believed in himself and his team and they ended up getting the victory.
There are going to be times in life when you make mistakes. Do not get down on yourself, keep your head up and believe in your abilities.
