Stick to your team!

There are many people who enjoy sports, and they tend to only like a certain team when they are winning. I think that true fans are the one's that stick to a team no matter how they are doing. All teams go through rough times and the fans should be there to support them. Don't like a team just because of their performance now, like a team from the start until the end.

Give support!

If there is someone in your life that is struggling, let them know that you are there by their side and give them support. You can be their motivator and help them get through whatever it is they are trying to accomplish. Sometimes people just need a little sense of direction and the positive encouragement from another person.

My Grandpa! King of the Ice!

My Grandpa is a very special person. All my life he has been there to watch me grow up. Him and my Grandma have been to so many of my sports games and I consider them two of my biggest fans. My Grandpa had 5 kids with my Grandma, and they were all born in Canada. He played professional Hockey in the NHL for many different teams. He was an amazing player and also a very good fighter on the ice. He didn't take anything from anyone, and he stood his ground. Tonight the Portland Winter Hawks are playing against Seattle at the Rose Garden. Before the game starts, my Grandpa will be recognized with some of his former teammates when they played on the Portland Buckaroo's. That was the name of the team before they became the Winter Hawks. The whole family is going to support him and then watch the game. It should be a great night and I dedicate it to my Grandpa. I love him so much and he is a big inspiration to me. Go Hawks!

Hope for Haiti!

The Haitian people are hurting right now. Many families have been heartbroken by the tragedy of the earthquake that just took place in Haiti. At first people who live here in the United States and have families in Haiti didn't know if their family member's were alive or dead. The economy is bad Nation Wide, but we still have our families and our city. Buildings in Haiti are crumbled and what took seconds to destroy will takes years to rebuild. The Haitian Nation needs are help and tonight there was a "Hope for Haiti" special which was live on tv and it will be replayed at 8:00pm on Fox. Over 100 actor's/actresses are running the phone lines for donations. It is a very touching show and I suggest that everyone watch it if they are able to. It will take a lot of work and patience to rebuild what was broken but with our help a little at a time it can happen. I hope on going to Haiti within the next couple months to help out with the kids and the community. It truly breaks my heart to see what they have had to go through and it would be an honor to say that I helped out and it would be an experience that I will never forget. With our support we can give them hope. Find it in your heart to help in anyway.

Be thankful for your job!

I received a 4 year Business Management Degree from Western Oregon University with a minor in Sports Management. After college I got a job as a Fitness Counselor at 24 Hour Fitness. It was a perfect job to gain experience in my field. I learned a lot when I was there and I had a great time as well. After 24 I got an amazing job at a construction supply company called, " Ames." My position was the Regional Sales Associate and I was the assistant to the Regional Manager. I traveled all over the Northwest and covered eleven different stores in the region. I would stay in each location for about a week and I would be flown there and put up in a nice hotel. All of my meals were paid for and I got to see some very cool places. To have that type of position at my age was very lucky but I have had a lot of experience so I was qualified for the position. I loved the hours, pay, benefits, travel , and co-workers. There was not one thing I disliked about my job. The construction industry is hurting badly right now and this last year a lot of employees in the company have been laid off. My position is different and I never thought it would happen to me, but I was laid off on October 9th right after I got back from a work trip in Spokane WA. I would give anything to have my job with Ames back.
The economy is horrible right now and jobs are hard to find. If you have a job, be thankful that you are working. There are so many people out there that are unemployed and can't find any work. I am young and I will be ok, but I feel really bad for the people who have families that they need to support and are struggling. Do not take anything in life for granted, especially your job right now. You don't know what your missing until you no longer have it. Make sure you go to work everyday and be happy that you are there. Show your boss that you are a hard worker and deserve to always have your position.
